M.G. Prasad

M.G. Prasad, Ph.D., is a spiritual disciple of Sriranga Sadguru, a yogi-seer, of Ashtanga Yoga Vijnana Mandiram, Mysore, India. Prasad is a professor of mechanical engineering specializing in acoustics and vibration at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey. Prasad serves in educational and religious activities at several temples and organizations. He has written several articles and lectures on various topics of Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism).

He teaches Scriptures, Sanskrit, Vedic Chanting and Meditation for adults and youths. Prasad conducts research on Nada Yoga and has given 8-hour workshop in Temple, N.Y. He has organized several conferences, symposia and forums on philosophy and science for Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Hindu American Temple and Cultural Center, Hindu Temple and Cultural Society, Society of Indian Academics in America, North American Sankethi Association.

Dr. M. G. Prasad is the Chairperson of the Education committee of Hindu Temple in Bridgewater, NJ He is the Vice -President of the Society of Indian academics in America, Emerson, N.J. He is also the Managing Council Member of International Foundation for Studies in Vedas, N.J. He is listed in Who’s Who in Asian Americans and Who’s Who in Technology Today. Prasad has been the General Chairman of the National Conference on Noise Control Engineering, 1991 and has published about 70 research publications in acoustics and vibrations.

Dr. M. G. Prasad has coordinated Hindu group prayers in Inter-faith service programs at the United Nations in their annual opening session events. He also had the distinction of coordinating the Hindu group prayer at the 50th anniversary celebrations of the United Nations at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, New York, New York on September 24, 1995.
