
Antje Jackelén
Dr. Antje Jackelén is the director of the Zygon Center for Religion and
Science. She is also associate professor of theology and religion and science at
the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Dr. Jackelén came to the United
States in 2001 from Sweden where she had been a pastor in the Church of Sweden
since 1980. Having studied at the University of Tübingen in her native Germany,
she earned her degree from Uppsala University (M.A. Theology, 1979) and Lund
University (Ph.D. Theology, 1999) in Sweden. Dr. Jackelén is on the council for
the European Society for the Study of Science and Theology (ESSSAT). She was the
regional director for Europe for the Science and Religion Course Program of the
Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences (CTNS) from 1999-2001. Dr.
Jackelén has published many articles and books. Her most recent book is Zeit
und Ewigkeit: Die Frage der Zeit in Kirche, Theologie, und Naturwissenschaft
(Germany, 2002).
