Asif Razvi

S. Asif Razvi, M.D. is a surgeon by profession and currently holds the position of chief of vascular surgery at the St. Elizabeth's medical Center of Boston. He is also the Director of the Vein Center at St. Elizabeth's. He has a teaching appointment as a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Razvi serves on the Medical Ethics Committee, the Operating Room Committee, and the Advisory Committee for Clinical Pastoral Education.

Islamic Perspectives on Cloning and Genetic Enginerring

Dr. Razvi was awarded the William Halstead Award for excellence in teaching Surgical Residents in the year 1994. In 1997 he was awarded the 25 years of service award by the Tufts University School of Medicine. Every year he has received the recognition of excellence in teaching Tufts Medical Students.

Dr. Razvi serves on the Steering Committee of Weston Interfaith Action Group, The Advisory Committee for ADL Interfaith Youth Group, The Interfaith Committee of the Islamic Council of New England that has a dialogue with the Mass Council of Churches and the Catholics. Dr. Razvi successfully completed an executive MBA program at Northeastern University and received his Masters in Business Administration in June 1999.

Dr. Razvi has established a Non-Profit Organization called "Hospital of America Inc" in the year 2000 and plans to undertake private fundraising to start a Free Care Hospital for the Working Poor in the Boston area. Dr. Razvi currently holds the position of the President of the Islamic Center of Boston and has lectured extensively on various topics in Islam.
