In his posted reply to an earlier version of this essay (see note 44) Dembski clearly expressed his expectation that the flagellar portion of the E. coli genome is not the only portion that required non-natural configurational action. Considering the flagellar portion to be the only designer configured portion would be, in Dembski’s words, "a position that I don’t hold and for which I never argued."
