God of the gaps’ carries two meanings: 1) At any point in time there are gaps in our understanding of natural processes, but these gaps will eventually be filled with the advance of science. We should not invoke God to explain these ‘epistemic’ gaps. 2) God intervenes in nature to create ‘ontological’ gaps in which God then acts. The current proposal is not about epistemic gaps, since it is a claim that depends on what is known by science, namely quantum mechanics, and on a reasonable interpretation of this knowledge, namely ontological indeterminism. Neither is it about interventionism because the ontological gaps are, according to this interpretation, already there in nature and are not due directly to God’s action.
